Today Volvo launched Sedan – S80 for Indian market. The design of this upgraded version is much more powerful than its previous release.
Volvo S80 comes with a new twin turbo five cylinder with 2.4 litre diesel engine, that makes 207.05PS of power and 420Nm of torque.
This new version of S80 will be available at an introductory price of Rs 38.79 lakh in ex-showroom in Mumbai and 37 lakhs in Delhi.
This car has four different model alternatives with different engine specification, power, performance and many other specs in order to truly ensure you pick the right car of your choice.
Here are some of the features and specs of this car.
Adaptive cruise control with distance alert – Helping the driver to keep a safe distance from vehicles in front at speeds over 30 km/h, ACC is a supportive partner for a more relaxed driving experience on long journeys and motorways. Just select the desired speed and the minimum time gap to the vehicle in front. When the radar sensor detects a slower vehicle in front, the speed automatically adapts to that vehicle. And when the road is clear, the car resumes the selected speed. If ACC is disengaged and a vehicle in front comes too close, Distance Alert activates a red warning light in the lower section of the windscreen to help you keep a proper distance.
Collision warning with Auto Brake – Primarily designed for highway driving, CWAB can warn you if you’re too close to a vehicle in front and – if a collision can’t be avoided – can activate the brakes to help mitigate the impact. Within a range of 150 metres, a radar sensor behind the grille and a digital camera behind the windscreen continuously monitor the distance to the vehicle driving in front of you. If the vehicle suddenly brakes (or is stationary) and Collision Warning senses that a collision is likely to happen, it will alert you to act with a flashing red warning light on the windscreen along with an audible alarm. Moreover, this technology supports driver-initiated braking by pre-charging the brakes to quickly prepare for panic braking and help shorten the reaction time. If you don’t react to the warning and a collision is imminent, the brakes will activate automatically.

Water Repellent side windows – To help offer far better visibility in the wet, these front side windows help repel water as you drive. The hydrophobic surface treatment turns water into small drops that will be blown away by the force of the wind. This also gives you the benefit of less ice or frost in winter conditions.
Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems – Properly inflated tyres are important for both handling and low fuel consumption. To help you keep tabs on inflation pressure, tyre pressure monitoring technology uses sensors mounted in each tyre valve. At speeds from 30 km/h and upwards, you will be alerted if the pressure in one or more of the tyres is too low.
Reinforced passenger Compartment – Reinforced with high-strength steel, this lightweight – yet sturdy – safety cage provides an outstanding level of protection for you and your passengers. In a collision, the front and rear crumple zones dissipate and distribute incoming collision forces to help reduce the impact on those inside the car, while in a side impact, our SIPS side-impact collision protection system distributes the crash force across a large portion of the car’s body to further reduce your risk of injury.
There are several other specs which you can get here. This car is fully furnished with many features but the price set for it will be a big problem for Indian Market.
Wow, nice car. I believe this car will do good business in Indian car market.
