Daggubati Ramanaidu is Dadasaheb Phalke Award winner 2009 – Biography

Dr. Daggubati Ramanaidu has won Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2009. President Pratibha Patil awarded this film producer D Ramanaidu for rendering outstanding contribution to the world of Indian cinema.

He is also famous for listing in The Guinness Book of Records as the most prolific producer with 130 films. He has produced movies in languages such as Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Bengali and Telugu.


Ramanaidu was born on 6 June 1936 to Daggubati Venkateswarlu and Lakshmi Devamma in Karamchedu in so called Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. His wife name is Rajeshwari and his son D.Suresh Babu runs Suresh productions.

He has already worked with many superstars like Chiranjeevi, Rajnikanth, Rajesh Khanna, Hema Malini, Rekha, N. T. Rama Rao, A. Nageswara Rao, Sivaji Ganesan and lot more.

His latest movies includes Bendu Apparao R.M.P (Telugu, 2009), Kausalya Supraja Rama, Bombaiyer Bombete (Bengali, 2003), Harivillu (Telugu, 2003), Kuch Tum Kaho Kuch Hum Kahein, Aaghaaz, Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain and lot more.
