82nd Academy Awards saw many upsets and cheers among the world famous celebrities faces. Well definitely only one will be winner and other will have to wait for whole one year, but the thing that matters is that only the correct one should be selected and not any other.

Oscar 2010 winners – Sandra bullock won best actress Academy awards for The blind side

Sandra Bullock won the best actress in the leading role yesterday at 82nd Academy Awards night. She was selected among top five which included Helen Mirren, Carey Mulligan, Gabourey Sidibe and Meryl Streep.

Five nominations that were selected for best actress in leading role were –
Sandra Bullock in “The Blind Side” (Warner Bros.)
Helen Mirren in “The Last Station” (Sony Pictures Classics)
Carey Mulligan in “An Education” (Sony Pictures Classics)
Gabourey Sidibe in “Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire” (Lionsgate) and
Meryl Streep in “Julie & Julia” (Sony Pictures Releasing)

 

And among all these Sandra Bullock was awarded the precious Oscar awards at the ceremony.

She thanked everybody in her acceptance speech specially to all other four who were nominated for this category. She told – ” Gabby, I love you so much. You are exquisite. You are beyond words to me. Carey, your grace and your elegance and your beauty and your talent makes me sick. Helen, I feel like we are family through family and I don’t have the words to express just what I think of you. And Meryl, you know what I think of you and you are such a good kisser”.

She also told that – ” I have so many people to thank for my good fortune in this lifetime and this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, I know. To the family that allowed me to play them, the Tuohy family, I know they’re in here and you’ll probably hear her in a minute. Maybe not. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to… the family that made this film that gave me the opportunity to do something different. John Lee Hancock, Gil Netter, Alcon, Warner Bros., the actors, everyone who’s shown me kindness when it wasn’t fashionable, I thank you. To everyone who was mean to me when it wasn’t… George Clooney threw me in a pool years ago. I’m still holding a grudge. But there’s so many people to thank.”

82nd Academy awards live stream – Predicting Oscars winners from nominations

Finally the stage is set for 82nd Academy awards today as it will go live on many channels just after 45 minutes from now. The biggest event for all movies superstars has been set to begin.

Almost all superstars have arrived at the arena to view and receive – if lucky Academy awards today. Here is the brief history regarding Oscars.


 

The Academy Awards (popularly known as the Oscars) are accolades presented annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to recognize excellence of professionals in the film industry, including directors, actors, and writers.

The formal ceremony at which the awards are presented is one of the most prominent award ceremonies in the world. It is also the oldest award ceremony in the media, and many other award ceremonies such as the Grammy Awards (for music), Golden Globe Awards (all forms of visual media), and Emmy Awards (for television) are often modeled from the Academy.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences itself was conceived by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studio boss Louis B. Mayer.
