State of Florida is offering special rebates for Energy Star appliances. Total national fund of $17.5 Million, that will sell out around 66000 Floridians for the rebates.

Some of the qualifying products are 6 ENERGY STAR Designated Appliances:Refrigerators, Freezers, Dishwashers, Clothes Washers, Room Air Conditioners, Hot Water Heaters – Gas Tank-less.

With the launch of the Florida ENERGY STAR Appliance Rebate Program, approximately 66,000 Floridians will be able to receive a rebate for 20 percent of the purchase price of new ENERGY STAR appliance(s) to replace their old energy-inefficient appliance(s) – as long as the purchased appliance is for residential use.

This program was funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and is designed to stimulate Florida’s economy by encouraging consumers to buy new ENERGY STAR appliances as stated by rbate.com/florida website. Purchasing new appliances will help create jobs for appliance manufacturers and retail stores. The program also encourages consumers to save energy, water, and to lower their monthly bills through the use of a more efficient appliance. Rebates apply only to the purchase of the appliance and not to delivery or installation costs.
